Our Sunday gatherings take place at 11:00 am ET. We usually meet in Montreal or Ottawa, and occasionally in other regions. We also meet over Zoom on occasion. Location is announced in our weekly email the week prior.

A little bit about us:The Vineyard Montreal started as a house church in 2001 associated with the Vineyard Churches of Canada.
The purpose of Vineyard Montreal is to build up the church of Christ and the people of Montreal in whatever way we can. Here are a few of the ways we have found to do that thus far: 1. Worship- This is where it all begins and ends - acknowledging God as the supreme Being and Lover of our souls. 2. Community Building - One of the most important things we do as a group is eat! There is something special about building relationships over food and drink that binds people together as a community. 3. Learning - We desire to be avid learners of Jesus and followers of his ways. 4. Listening and responding to God - We welcome the supernatural and natural intervention of God through whatever means he chooses. 5. Healing - We love to pray for each other and ask God to intervene for any who need encouragement or are sick in body, mind, or spirit. 6. Reaching Out - We look for opportunities to practically show the love of God to people in our community and beyond. Many times this is just plain old spending time with people inside and outside of structured gatherings, bringing the presence of God wherever we go. 7. Being a Resource - We want to freely offer what we have been so generously given. |
Statement on Belonging and Participation
At Vineyard Montreal, we strive to include one another and practice allyship with each other, especially in regard to those of us who are often discriminated against because of gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity and cultural background, physical and intellectual ability, economic status, and neurodiversity.
As a community, we invite the full participation of all, especially minority groups, in decision-making, leadership, and church activities.
As a community, we seek to share the burden of emotional labour that participation and leadership can be for those underrepresented among us. Together, we purpose to navigate the challenges that come with making a church community more welcoming and equitable and to do so in a spirit of humility, authenticity, and kindness.
As a community, we endeavor to ensure there are no limitations based on one's sexual orientation or gender identity when it comes to seeking marriage or leadership positions.
We acknowledge that our stance on full participation of all, as it relates to individuals who identify as LGBTQ2+, does not align with Vineyard Canada’s statement on sexuality and marriage. We continue to dialogue with Vineyard Canada on how this impacts our long-term involvement within the movement.
If you have questions about how we are navigating this reality or any other part of our statement, please feel free to contact us.
Joint Statement (issued September 21, 2021)
Over the past year, Vineyard Canada and Vineyard Montréal have been discussing whether they can remain in affiliation after arriving at two different landing points on LGBTQ2+ inclusion and belonging. Vineyard Montréal sought to remain affiliated with Vineyard Canada whilst becoming a fully affirming church community that performs marriages for same-sex couples and provides full leadership opportunities for people who identify as a part of the queer community. Vineyard Montréal sought clarity from Vineyard Canada as to whether or not continued affiliation was possible. Vineyard Canada saw the wisest way to move ahead was that Vineyard Montréal give up official affiliation with Vineyard Canada. Vineyard Montréal respects this request and is in the process of leaving Vineyard Canada. Vineyard Canada and Vineyard Montréal commit to maintaining the bond of peace through humbly acknowledging each other as remaining in the body of Christ and only asking God for blessings for the other.
